Today, we thank Hiang Whai Quak for his six years of service on the Ray of Hope Board. Since 2019, he has been one of the voices who shaped how we think, plan, and speak about our work.
In meetings, he often listened first, then cut straight to the question that mattered. He pointed out blind spots, reframed issues, and challenged us to be clearer about why we do what we do. That kind of discipline strengthens a charity in quiet but lasting ways.
His support also took a very personal form. When he published his second book "It's A Campaign, Stupid!", he reserved the first batch for charity and donated the proceeds to Ray of Hope, raising at least $12,718. Two years ago, he celebrated his birthday with a mini-Live Aid concert and raised over $16,000.
Hiang Whai, thank you for the years you invested in strengthening Ray of Hope. Wishing you the very best as you step into what's next!
